Avoca Beach is a popular holiday destination, especially for families, with a vibrant surf culture and relaxed, friendly ambience. The long stretch of beach has rocky headlands at each end, golden sand and sparkling blue sea. Its surf breaks are excellent for beginners and experienced surfers and its beach popular for swimming, including a tidal rock pool. The tranquil Avoca Lake lies behind the beach and offers great bush walking, fishing and picnic areas. Avoca has cosmopolitan cafes, restaurants, shops and accommodation. The nearby towns of Terrigal and Ettalong Beach are worth a visit.
