buttonTurn down Coldstream Street and you’ll find yourself in what feels like a movie set, so idyllic is Ulmarra’s riverside charm. You might think you can get away with a quick ten-minute browse in the variety of second-hand stores that lie in Ulmarra, but this is rarely the case. Hours can evaporate browsing the bookshop alone. Ulmarra overlooks a tranquil stretch of the Clarence, and with its shady trees, water dragons running around and quiet ambience, it’s quite possibly what heaven might be like. A highly recommended setting for morning tea or lunch by the river – the availability of cakes and pastries here is something else. For such a modestly sized village, Ulmarra punches above its weight in the creative sphere, with a number of fabulous small galleries for you to get your art on. In a nod to the days when Ulmarra was a bustling river port, they’ve recently installed a schmick new pontoon just to the south of the pub. Feel free to berth your craft or cast your rod there. And finally, as with much of the Clarence Valley, Ulmarra has some lovely Bed and Breakfasts to put you up for the night! Proudly Yaegl Country
