buttonThe hamlet of Laurel Hill is located 22 kilometres from Tumbarumba on the road to Batlow and Tumut. The mill here once produced hardwood timber for many years, specialising in producing timber for boat oars and sulky shafts. Nearby Laurel Hill is the Bago State Forest, which provides excellent mountain bike trails, four-wheel-drive tracks, fossicking, and fishing at Paddy's River Dam. The wonderful Pilot Hill Arboretum remains undamaged by the bushfires and is an excellent place to picnic and walk amongst the trees.
