buttonDunedoo is located in Central New South Wales and is only 115 kilometres from Coonabarabran, the gateway to the Warrumbungle National Park and Siding Spring Observatory. The town is located at the junction of the Golden Highway and Castlereagh Highway in the southern area of the Warrumbungle Region. It makes an ideal place to stretch your legs, wander the main street or enjoy a meal in the classic country pub, takeaways or cute cafes. Set amongst the rolling hills and valleys surrounding the Talbragar River, Dunedoo is the perfect place for a relaxing stopover. Enjoy a picnic beneath the mature trees in the lovely landscaped recreation area of OL Milling Park which runs almost the entire length of the main street. Pronounced Dunny-doo, the town is often recognised for its unique colloquial name. The name is said to be derived from the local Wiradjuri Aboriginal name for swans, which frequented the nearby lagoons. Dunedoo is located in the Warrumbungle Shire region.
