Meridian provides free, friendly, inclusive, face to face assistance for community members to connect with community supports, services, and/or navigate My Aged Care and NDIS.

Seniors and Aged Services Navigators (SASN)

We can support and assist with accessing My Aged Care services for the first time, and changing or finding new services and supports.

At Meridian, we acknowledge the elders of the LGBTIQA+ and people living with HIV community for their resilience and determined struggle for social justice and human rights that has improved the lives of all Australians. While many LGBTIQA+ and people living with HIV older people lead healthy and fulfilling lives; others are dealing with the historical legacy of past systemic marginalization and stigmatization. Meridian is committed to supporting the elders of our community to live the life they choose and to ensure they treated with dignity and respect.

Disabili-Tea Online & Out and About

Meridian empowers people with a disability who identify as LGBTIQA (plus) to bravely, actively and proudly participate in the civic and community life they want. Disabili-Tea is a fortnightly event for LGBTIQA+ folks with disability, neurodivergence, visual impairment, chronic health and mental health conditions, and members of the d/Deaf/HoH communities. We meet for conversations and activities suggested by the group. It is a space for LGBTIQA+ folks with disability to talk, laugh, share, celebrate, commiserate and connect. Support people and assistance animals are welcome.    

Peer Support for LGBTIQA+ People with Disability Experiencing Isolation

Develop and deliver the Peer Support for LGBTIQA+ People with Disability Experiencing Isolation pilot. The purpose of the project is to challenge social isolation by matching LGBTIQ+ people with disability with an LGBTIQ+ community volunteer to facilitate access to social engagement opportunities.
