About Us
SWOP is a sex worker-led program that aims to prevent HIV and other STIs among Canberra’s sex worker community and empower and support the rights of sex workers. Delivering education to encourage the wider community to see sex work as work and ensure that sex workers are treated respectfully in and outside their safe workplaces.
Provides advocacy, referral, information, education and resources for sex workers in areas such as HIV/AIDS, sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and safe sexual practices. Discounted safe sex products and a library focusing on the history of sex workers and sexual health. Runs an outreach program about the sex industry for the general public including workshops for schools and other groups. Lobbies for equal rights and working conditions for sex workers.
