CANBERRA ASTRONOMICAL SOCIETY INC
About Us
Encourages understanding of astronomy, making astronomical observations and astronomic public awareness. Meets 8pm third Thursday of the month (except June and December). Allows for public and school viewing events.
CAS caters to the needs of amateur astronomers in and around Canberra and the ACT, Australia. If you’re interested in astronomy, you’ve come to the right place—why not consider becoming a member?
CAS undertakes a significant amount of astronomy outreach in our local community. We work closely with the Research School of Astronomy and Astrophysics (RSAA) at the Mt. Stromlo Observatory to conduct public stargazing nights, as well as working with schools in the region to show their students the wonders of the night sky.
