ACON Health Limited - Hunter

Our Aged Care Volunteer Visitor Scheme (ACVVS) is available to all LGBTQ+ people living in residential aged care, or aged 65+ living in the community receiving/awaiting support via HCP.  Under the ACVVS, recipients are matched with a volunteer who is also a member of the LGBTQ+ community to provide social engagement. The program aims to build intergenerational friendships and reduce isolation.

Stroke Foundation: StrokeSafe Volunteer Speaker Program

Our StrokeSafe volunteer speakers are trained in public speaking and experienced in delivering life-saving messages about stroke. Our volunteers cover a range of issues that will help your organisation or group better understand stroke and how it can be prevented including; what a stroke is, how to recognise the signs of stroke, what to do if someone is having a stroke, how to prevent stroke.

Wesley Aged Care Volunteer Visitors

Volunteer visitors provide social support for residents of aged care facilities or who are still living at home with assistance through a Home Care Package

Adult Migrant English Program (AMEP)

The Adult Migrant English Program (AMEP) at TAFE NSW offers free English language courses to help migrants and refugees settle in Australia, and it is currently seeking volunteers to support its initiatives.

Anxiety Support Groups

A support group for people experiencing anxiety disorders, including phobias, OCD, social anxiety, and generalised anxiety. Groups are run by volunteer facilitators as part of WayAhead's Understanding Anxiety program. Carers, family and friends are also welcome to attend.
