About Us
Child, Youth Mentoring Program
For children/young people aged 6-16yrs. Targets vulnerable children and young people residing in families experiencing difficulties, which include parental health and well-being issues, drug and alcohol misuse issues, family relationship issues, family breakdown, sibling disability and chronic health concerns, kinship care arrangements, poverty, and children/young people who are isolated and in need of additional support and friendship from an adult outside of the home environment. Two mentoring options available depending on the identified needs of the child/young person - 'Kids Friends' (friendship mentoring) and 'Tutoring' (educational mentoring). The mentors are volunteers recruited from the local community who are carefully screened and trained to assist children/young people from vulnerable and socially isolated backgrounds by taking a long-term active role in their lives.
