About Us
We are a free legal service, for Aboriginal and/ or Torres Strait Islander people, affected by family violence and/ or sexual assault in Queensland.
ways we can help you
- explain your legal rights and responsibilities
- outline various options and steps you can take to solve your legal problem/s
- go to court with you and support you through the process
- connect you to free counselling and support services. e.g. health, housing, financial advisors etc.
- offer information sessions, factsheets and resources relevant to you
in the following areas of law
- Child Protection
- Domestic and Family Violence
- Family Law
- Victims Assistance
- Witness Assistance Law
- Victim Support (Sexual Assault)
you may be eligible for our services if
- you or the child/ren are Aboriginal and/ or Torres Strait Islander
- experiencing or have experienced family violence and/ or sexual assault
- living in Queensland
It is important to know that support is available. If for some reason we are unable to assist, we will refer you to a support service/s that can. If you, or your family, need legal support or more information, free call our friendly team on 1800 887 700.

- build and maintain strong relationships
- present education sessions (legal or non-legal)
- hold and attend community events
