Child & Antenatal Care

The family and child health team specialises in maternal, child and family health, with a strong focus on cultural values. We can assess your child’s reflexes, cognition, behaviour, hearing, vision and brain development. Chronic Disease

Chronic Disease Nurses supports clients, their families, and carers with increasing health literacy to empower clients to proactively plan and manage their chronic disease condition.

Dressing Clinic

Wound Care services are offered to clients with chronic and complex wounds to provide comprehensive and cohesive care to optimise wound healing. Wound Care services are provided in collaboration with other allied health services.

Karumba Health Centre

Karumba Health clinic provides a Primary Health Care Service. The Clinic is a level one nurse led facility, offering a range of primary health care, emergency stabilisation, pathology collection, with a Medical Officer performing a GP clinic 12 hours per week.

Normanton Child Safety Service Centre

Child safety service centres provide support and a range of services to children, young people, families and carers to ensure children's safety and wellbeing and to prevent children from being harmed.

Normanton Hospital

Normanton Hospital is a Level 2 hospital under the Rural and Remote Clinical Services Capability Framework, with capacity to provide respite/palliative care services and private admissions. The facility provides 24-hour acute inpatient and accident and emergency care. Outpatient services include general outpatients, nurse and medical led clinics, radiology, pathology, pharmacy and dressing clinics

NWRH – Normanton

Mental Health, Wellbeing, Disability and Aged Care Supports. Local Indigenous staff work Monday to Friday. Visiting mental health staff by appointment. All services are free of charge. Another local staff member provides in home and community engagement support, as well as supports under NDIS,

Pharmacy

Our service provides medicines management services for inpatients, outpatients and day admitted patients in the North West Hospital and Health Service including facilities located off-site.

The Gidgee Healing primary health service provides a range of medical and clinical services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people living in Mount Isa and the surrounding region.

Recovery

The Normanton Recovery and Community Wellbeing Service (NRCWS) offers a range of treatment programs for people struggling with addiction, helping them live a sober, healthy and happy lifestyle. Our services are designed to align with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander concepts of social and emotional wellbeing and provide a holistic approach to individual’s needs and priorities.

In September 2023, selectability took over management responsibility for three small First Nations residential aged care facilities; Ngooderi House, Kukatja Place and Kuba Natha Hostel; in the Lower Gulf.
