About Us

Croydon Shire is located just south of the base of the Gulf of Carpentaria in Far North Queensland. The Shire is approximately 2,200 kilometres by road from the State capital, Brisbane.

Croydon is located in the heart of the Gulf Savannah, midway between Georgetown and Normanton. This is en route from Cairns to Karumba.

 

The Croydon Shire Community Plan was adopted in 2011. The plan sets a ten-year vision and strategic direction for the shire and is the outcome of extensive consultation with the local community.
