The Hughenden Multipurpose Health Service is an acute facility with 24-hour emergency and general medical care, with six long-stay nursing home-type beds.

Where possible, the Hughenden Health Service offers telehealth appointments for all specialties available at Townsville University Hospital. The team also provides a telehealth oncology service supervised by Townsville University Hospital oncology service for patients requiring chemotherapy.
