About Us

TAIHS primary health service provides a range of medical and clinical services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

Our health services are provided by a dedicated team of Doctors, Indigenous Health Professionals, Nurses, Visiting Specialists, Allied Health Professionals, Administration and Transport personnel. Your health is important to you and your family, it’s also important to us.

TAIHS encourages all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to see their Doctor for an annual Health Check (715).

A 715 Health Check takes approximately 45 minutes to complete and is done by a culturally appropriate Health Worker and your regular Doctor.  A Health Check includes a general physical assessment, a blood sugar test, pulse and blood pressure test, pathology, and screening for skin, vision, and hearing.
