Pathology

The Pathology Team provides the hospital’s laboratory and outpatient collection centre needs. It operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week with a team of scientists, lab assistants and phlebotomists (people trained to draw blood). 

The laboratory offers access to rapid inpatient and outpatient diagnostic pathology services for doctors and patients.

Outpatient specimen collections are performed for clinic patients, General Practitioners and other requesting doctors. All pathology referral forms are accepted, and all private forms are Medicare bulk-billed, so patients have no out of pocket expense.

Multiple daily ward rounds for inpatients are performed 365 days a year.
