Acute Care Team

The Acute Care Team Service is the point of access to Mental Health Services in CQ Health for people over 18 years old. We provide assessment and referral services for people who experience serious mental health problems. 

Our services 

You will speak with a health professional who will discuss your mental health needs and make a plan with you. We provide support to people experiencing a range of serious mental health concerns, including: 

• psychosis 

• mood disorders 

• anxiety disorders 

Our team has a range of mental health professionals including psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, nurses and occupational therapists. 

How to access this service 

You can access this service by calling the 24 hour hour access number 1300 MH CALL (1300 64 2255).  

You can also be referred by: 

• family members or friends 

• GPs and health professionals 

• other government or non-government services
