buttonMoogerah is a country haven, only an hour's drive south west of Brisbane. Just outside Moogerah, you'll find the spectacular Moogerah Peaks and five minutes away to the north-east, lies beautiful Lake Moogerah. Lake Moogerah is a popular destination for boating, fishing, water-skiing or for having a picnic on the grassy banks. You will need a permit to fish but there are no boating restrictions on the lake and two concrete launching ramps are available. The Moogerah Peaks were formed from volcanic activity over 22 million years ago and consist of Mount French, Mount Greville, Mount Moon and Mount Edwards. These peaks are popular with bushwalkers and climbers and are known for their challenging terrain. Mount French in particular is internationally renowned with climbers for its spectacular cliff faces. The peaks offer bushwalkers a physical challenge and the opportunity to experience their rugged grandeur and extensive views in relative solitude. The nearby township of Aratula offers coffee shops, a bakery and fresh produce. In the opposite direction, a short drive to Kalbar, Boonah or Mt Alford will provide visitor with opportunities to visit country pubs, coffee shops, restaurants and art galleries. Holiday Houses, glamping and eco-pods, hotel, motel camping and caravan park accommodation is available at this popular destination.
