Planned Procedure Unit (Day Surgery)

The Townsville University Hospital Planned Procedure Unit (PPU) cares for day-of-surgery and day-surgery patients from six months old to adult. Selected post-operative surgical patients are able to stay for one night while they recover. 

Referral Process
Patients are referred to the unit via specialist clinics or from consultant surgeons’ rooms. There is no direct referral to the unit.
