About Us
Bamford Medical is a well established private practice located in Kirwan, Townsville. The longstanding GP clinic was founded by Dr Ian Fraser in 1971, and has since offered health services while growing with their loyal patient base across 42 years.
The team at Bamford offer friendly faces and second to none, accredited health care, but are also neighboring a range of health clinicians, a pathology centre, HomeCaring services, and their very own Allied health building.

Our Practice.
Operating Times.
Bamford Medical are open from 8am - 5pm , Monday - Friday. Bamford Medical does not operate on a Saturday, Sunday, or public holidays.
Appointments.
WE ARE ACCEPTING NEW PATIENTS
Bamford Medical is a private practice, and does have a fee associated with appointments as such, with medicare rebate being administered without any wait time. Bookings are accepted via this website (button below), or feel free to call the practice on 07 4773 2888.
Waiting Times.
Occasionally, our GPs can be delayed with urgent or complex issues. We apologize if your wait time is a little longer than expected.
Home visits are available for regular patients whose condition prevents them from attending the surgery.
Walk Ins
Walk ins will be triaged by our nursing staff.
Specialist Referrals.
Referrals do require an appointment with your GP. Please make an appointment to have these arranged, even if you are a repeat patient.
Test Results.
While our nurses will often call to let patients know that their results have arrived, in most cases a follow up appointment would be required for the doctor to discuss these with you.
Communication/ Telephone Policy
To avoid interruption to consultations the doctors do not take direct phone calls from patients. Reception staff will be happy to your details and the nursing staff will be able to triage your call.
Recalls & Reminders.
Our Reminder system will send text messages or letters to keep you up to date with your preventative health measures. Please advise reception if you would not like to receive these.
