About Us
Reconnect - This early intervention outreach program covers the Townsville area and the target group is young people who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless, and their families. The program operates in conjunction with welfare agencies and government departments (eg. Centrelink) to improve local coordination of services for young people. The young people involved in the program are reconnected when it is appropriate with, or introduced to, family, educational pursuits, vocational training, employment options and the broader community.
Young Parents Programs - These programs are aimed at assisting young parents (who are under twenty-five years of age), partners and children through various projects and outreach services. The program also provides assistance to young people expecting a child, and those whose children are in foster care. YPP currently incorporates - A) Munchkin’s Playgroup and B) PPOSSIBLEE Program (Providing Parents with Opportunities for Support and Self Sufficiency in Building Links to Employment and Education). YPP is funded by the Department of Families, Housing, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs (FaHCSIA).
Townsville Youth Housing and Reintegration Service - The Townsville and Mt Isa Youth Housing and Reintegration Service’s objective is to reduce homelessness affecting young people aged 12-20 years who are either exiting, or transitioning from child protection orders, are transitioning to the community following a period of sentence or remand in a Youth Detention Centre, or are homeless, or in inadequate housing. The service is a combined initiative of Commonwealth, State and Territory Governments and funded by the Queensland Government’s Department of Communities.
LearnIt Youth Mentoring Program - LearnIt Youth Mentoring Program in Townsville targets young people who do not have the ability to complete their 100 hours of supervised driving experience
