About Us
Carer Gateway support services include:
- Free telephone counselling - One-on-one support with a professional counsellor over the phone if you feel stressed or overwhelmed.
- In-person counselling - One-on-one support with a professional counsellor
- Online self-guided carer coaching modules - Explore online carer coaching sessions. You can reflect on how you are going, how you'd like things to be, and how you might take steps towards making that happen.
- An online peer support community forum - Register to join the online forum and be part of a supportive community with other carers. Share stories and advice and learn from each other in a safe space.
- Carer skills courses - Explore the carer skills courses that provide information, insights and practical tips to help you learn new skills important in your caring role.
- Peer support - Caring for a friend or family member can be a demanding and often isolating experience. Come along to our Peer Support Workshops, a safe space for carers to meet like-minded people, share stories, get creative and connect through the power of peer support.
- Emergency respite - ‘Respite’ means taking a break. When you are a carer, it’s important to regularly take time for yourself to rest and recharge. If you need a break, respite care services can look after the person you care for. It's a good idea to find out more about respite services so you can plan breaks, and so you know what to do to get respite care in an emergency.
- Information about topics such as emergency planning, carer payments and legal matters
The Carer Gateway will offer services for un-paid carers across mental health, aged care, disability and medical needs. This means that HelpingMinds, in conjunction with Carers WA, will offer supports not only to mental health carers, but unpaid carers across Western Australia.
You can access these supports and new online services through Carers Gateway website, email [email protected] or call HelpingMinds®? on (08) 9427 7100 for more information.
