About Us

Volunteers are needed to offer care and support to refugee and migrant children at their schools.  A caring and supportive volunteer, who is willing to build a trusting relationship, can make the world of difference by assisting a child, or small group of children, to tackle classroom tasks and therefore build confidence and self esteem.  Volunteers are assigned to a primary or secondary school, depending on their preference, and are expected to attend for three hours per week, during school hours, for the school year.  You will be required to attend a compulsory training session before you commence at the school.

This project involves:

• three hours once per week to support a child or a small group of children from refugee/migrant backgrounds at their school

• a commitment of at least 6-12 months during the school terms.

The volunteer requirements are:

• being comfortable going into a school and a classroom,

• warmth, friendliness, patience and consistency,

• completion of a Volunteer Application, followed by an interview,

• a Working With Children Check and a Criminal History Check (instructions on how to do this will be provided).

If you remain interested to apply, please kindly complete the online Application Form and will contact you for a brief interview once I have received your form.
