It is comprised of the suburb of Unnamed Locality.

It is comprised of the localities of Carpentaria, Fielding, Howitt, Karumba, Maramie, Normanton, Savannah, Stokes and Yagoonya.

It is surrounded by the councils of Burke, Cloncurry, Cook, Croydon, Kowanyama, Mareeba, Mckinlay and Pormpuraaw.

It is comprised of parts of the state electorates of Cook and Traeger.

It is comprised of parts of the federal electorates of Kennedy and Leichhardt.
