Cook Community

Cook Shire Council has an approximate area of 183,000 km².

It is surrounded by the suburbs of Degarra, Evans Landing, Nanum, Rocky Point, Spurgeon, Trunding, Unnamed Locality, Weipa Airport and Wujal Wujal.

It is comprised of the localities of Archer River, Coen, Cooktown, Dixie, Edward River, Holroyd River, Iron Range, Lakefield, Lakeland, Laura, Lizard, Palmer, Rossville, Shelburne, Starcke, Wenlock and Yarraden plus parts of Arafura Sea, Bloomfield, Hope Vale, Jardine River, Lockhart River, Mapoon and Mission River.

It is surrounded by the councils of Aurukun, Carpentaria, Douglas, Hope Vale, Kowanyama, Lockhart River, Mapoon, Mareeba, Napranum, Northern Peninsula Area, Pormpuraaw, Torres, Weipa and Wujal Wujal.

It is within the state electorate of Cook.

It is comprised of parts of the Leichhardt federal electorate.
