About This Community
Indigo Council has an approximate area of 2,000 km².
It is comprised of the suburbs of Allans Flat, Barnawartha, Brimin, Browns Plains, Bruarong, Carlyle, Charleroi, Chiltern Valley, Cornishtown, Gooramadda, Kergunyah, Kiewa, Lilliput, Norong, Osbornes Flat, Sandy Creek, Stanley, Tangambalanga, Wahgunyah and Wooragee plus parts of Gundowring, Huon and Staghorn Flat.
It is comprised of the localities of Beechworth, Chiltern, Indigo Valley, Rutherglen and Yackandandah.
It is surrounded by the councils of Alpine Shire, Federation, Greater Hume Shire, Moira Shire, Towong Shire, Wangaratta Rural City and Wodonga City.
It is within the state electorate of Benambra.
It is within the federal electorate of Indi.
