It is comprised of the localities of Boompa, Cherwell, Doongul, Duckinwilla, Gigoomgan, Glenbar, Malarga, Mount Urah, St Mary and Tuan Forest plus parts of Great Sandy Strait.
It is within the council of Fraser Coast.
It is surrounded by the state electorates of Burnett, Callide, Gympie, Hervey Bay and Nanango.
It is comprised of parts of the federal electorates of Hinkler and Wide Bay.
