About Us
- Set 'In the Canefields', the hall is a historic building, built by locals in 1917 as a meeting place and dance hall to service the community. Its walls echo the enjoyment of past and present generations. Currently it operates as a Wedding and Function Venue, and is available for Casual Hire. Catering, Styling, Co-ordination and equipment hire are available.
The current building includes the original Hall, the Original Norwell School (a building over 100 years old) that was added as an extension in the 70/80's and a current extension which when complete will provide additional space and storeroom.
Total capacity approx 300 people. Events with tables and large original Dance floor are comfortable at about 100-120 people. The Hall has an early style performance stage.and Basic large Kitchen. Existing old trestle tables, pews, and basic stacking chairs are included in hire. Various Packages are available to meet customer's needs. Costs for Crockery, cutlery, glasses, round tables, or styling can be included.
Wedding options can include ceremony packages either on the grounds or at selected other local locations.
Dry hire options are available subject to conditions. .
Girl Guides meet here each Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons.
