Goodna Rotary Club

The Rotary Club of Goodna began in 1980. The sponsor club was the Rotary Club of Booval and John Beitzel from that club was the District Governor’s special representative appointed to assist in the formation of the new club. The club was chartered on 23rd September, 1980 and the charter night was held in November of that year in St. Mary’s Hall, Ipswich. The Club has supported many worthy causes including:Evan Marginson sporting complex, Goodna Jacaranda Festival (one year two girls sponsored by the club raised $10,000), Goodna Neighbourhood Centre, Musical instruments to several schools, Redbank Plains High School (including a tractor worth $14,000), Rotary Bicentenary Park (the club won an award from Greening Australia Council).
