About This Community
Macdonnell Council has an approximate area of 268,000 km².
It is comprised of the suburbs of Amoonguna, Areyonga, Finke, Haasts Bluff, Hermannsburg, Imanpa, Kaltukatjara, Kintore, Mount Liebig, Mutitjulu, Papunya, Titjikala and Wallace Rockhole.
It is comprised of the localities of Burt Plain, Ghan, Hale, Hugh, Kunparrka, Mereenie, Mount Zeil, Namatjira, Petermann, Santa Teresa and Simpson plus parts of Lake Mackay.
It is surrounded by the councils of Alice Springs, Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara, Central Desert Region, Diamantina, Ngaanyatjarraku, Pastoral and Yulara.
It is comprised of parts of the state electorates of Namatjira and Stuart.
It is within the federal electorate of Lingiari.
